Slash, take it home

Well my friends, we have come to the end. This is my tenth blog and I am happy you guys were with me all the way. I will give an overview of what Slash means to me and why he is our lord and savior.

Saul Hudson, born in England, started to play guitar when he and Steven Adler were anxious to start a band. As the years went by, Slash formed some small bands before he came into Guns N’ Roses, one of his many major bands. Guns gave Slash his well deserved fame but it was a very toxic band seeing as they were all using very strong drugs. The vocalist, Axl Rose, had made it very hard for the rest of the members to remain in the band. In 1996, Slash quit and kept playing for Slash’s Snakepit, his secondary band. Snakepit didn’t last much after its second album and Slash was anxious for a new band.

Slash, with the help and participation of Guns’ ex members Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum, created Velvet Revolver. Revolver was a huge comeback from Guns N’ Roses. Unfortunately, this period was also filled with drug use but it was also around the time that both Duff and Slash hit rock bottom and got sober. When Revolver was put on hiatus, Slash was tired of not having a band to put songs together, make a record and play live. Slash decided to go solo.

Slash decided to call upon talented artists to help him finish an all around album. What I mean about an “all around album” is that it has a little of everything. This album is called “Slash: R&FN’R.” You can find rock, heavy rock, metal, and rap. Not only that but every song is by a different artist. We have amazing guests such as Ozzy Osbourne, Fergie, Adam Levine, Koshi Inaba, M Shadows, Myles Kennedy, Alice Cooper, Cypress Hill, Dave Grohl, Duff McKagan and many more. My personal favorite, aside from Myles Kennedy <3, is Koshi Inaba. He is a Japanese singer that has the voice of a God. When Slash made this album, it was impossible to have all of these artists in the same place to play these songs, much less tour. So Slash found himself a reliable and talented band that could make this happen. He found Myles Kennedy, Todd Kerns and Brent Fitz. After the R&FN’R tour, the band noticed their potential and started to make records. This band/continuation of Slash’s solo career is called, “Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators. ” It is my bad obsession.

A sad song for the ones who will miss these blogs 😦
This is one that gets me happy immediately. Don’t be sad, be happy!

Slash has influenced me in the way I dress and the way I try to act. Slash is tranquil, he is calm and very well-mannered. I want to feel like he feels. Confident and relaxed. He seems as if he doesn’t have a thing to stress about. When I get to make music of my own it will be heavily influenced by Slash. His impact on me is simply him being himself. He is great at what he does because he does it with passion. Slash is an example to follow. Slash is my culture and I hope I can make the world appreciate him the way I do.

These blogs may be done, but Slash will always be with you. Always.

Slash Ft. Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators

Home ~ About me ~ Blog Feed ~ Instabam

We have reached the moment we have all been waiting for. Slash’s current rock band. Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators. This is what was made from having his own solo record, Slash R&FN’R, created. He met and jammed with a lot of new musicians. This is when he met with Todd Kerns, Brent Fitz and Mr. Miraculous, Myles mother******* Kennedy. (The young buck, Frank Sidoris, was later added to the band.) He chose these amazing human beings to tour with them across the world and they all noticed their chemistry as a band. Seeing as how they all are all at least forty, they have all been through the same things. They all went through their young and crazy teenager times as well as their drug addiction and rehabilitation phase. Today, in present times, they are older and mature men that only want to tour and play rock n’ roll. They are done with partying and all those negative things. Their only goal is to play music. They can now enjoy the road, their fans and the energy of a concert. I will link a video showing their process of making an album and then going out to tour and play. This video shows them being a very tight group. They are all great friends and have the same vision. These are all elements that are necessary to make an everlasting band.

SMKC has created three albums and hopefully there are many more on their way. The albums are Apocalyptic Love (2012), World On Fire (2014) and Living The Dream (2018). I recently bought the Apocalyptic Love CD to have in my car and I’m enjoying the hell out of it. It’s helped me memorize the lyrics better because I get to hear them every time I drive somewhere. Every album has a different feel to it but Apocalyptic love has a sort of crispy sound to it. The songs are hard and rocking. I know that songs about drugs, sex and death are negative, but not to me. They are life saving because they teach you things. These are things that they have lived through and are meant to teach. My favorite and recommended songs are Apocalyptic Love, Standing in the sun, You’re a Lie, No More Heroes, Anastasia, Not For Me and Far and Away. These are extremely beautiful songs. Trust me. If you don’t want to listen to crazy hard and fast songs, Hard & Fast is coincidently a song in this album, Far and Away is a beautiful and slow song for my romantic friends out there.

In comparison to Apocalyptic Love, World On Fire sounds more advanced and clearer. I can’t explain myself but it is a good change. It has a great sound to it because it sounds extremely refreshing. That is how I would describe WOF. Refreshing. My favorite and recommended songs are Shadow Life, Wicked Stone, 30 Years to Life, Bent to Fly, Stone Blind, Too Far Gone, Beneath the Savage Sun, Withered Delilah, Battleground, Dirty Girl and The Unholy. I know I gave away almost all the songs in the album, but trust me, this only shows how amazing the album is.

Living The Dream was the only album where I was present when it came out. I got to experience the teasers and the releases of the singles. I loved that feeling! The first single was Driving Rain. This great song had me so hyped because it was new. I was present in this part of history! I memorized it because I heard it so many times. I was extremely happy when I saw the first time they played it live. Obviously I saw it on youtube, but nevertheless, seeing them play Driving Rain for the first time in front of a crowd was sick. I will link this video below. Watch it!

Sorry, I couldn’t find the original video. This is the same exact video, just ignore the subtitles n.n

SMKC is easily my favorite band at the moment. I know I’ve been speaking very highly about Guns, Revolver and Snakepit but SMKC is just the perfect band. This band has gotten me through tough and stressful times. I love this band so much. I promise I will see them live. Please if you don’t wanna waste your time listening to my million recommendations, I will give you only one song per album. Try Apocalyptic Love/Far and Away for the AL album. For WOF, try our 30 Years to Life/ Battleground. For LTD, Driving Rain/The One You Loved is Gone. I know I said I’d show one song but I’m giving you a choice depending on what type of person you are. The first option is a hard and fast one while the second option is a slow one for my romantics. Go! Listen to Slash, Myles and the Conspirators!

Slash R&FN’R

Home ~ About me ~ Blog Feed ~ Instabam

This photo was taken from the Wikipedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slash_(album)

After the highs and lows of his past bands, Slash began his solo career in 2009 with a phenomenal album called Slash: R&FN’R. The beauty of this album is that Slash invited a huge load of musicians to join him. This time Slash is the boss. He would no longer be the featured one, the others would be the ones featuring him. Slash would be the main member, the most important one, which couldn’t be more correct. Slash invites an array of personalities to join him in singing the songs he practically has done for them. What Slash did is that since he has the majority of the songs done, he thought of inviting the people whose voice he thought matched that to his unfinished songs. That way they can come up with a masterpiece. Slash also invites three of the five original Guns members to join in some of the songs. Those members being Izzy Stradlin, Duff McKagan and Steven Adler. They’d only be missing Axl. I would have **** my pants if Axl would have done even the smallest collaboration. The album was planned to be called Slash & Friends but was later only called Slash. This album features everyone from Ozzy Osbourne to Fergie. The following will be the list of singers present at Slash’s solo album.

Must watch! It’s such a fun making of video.

Koshi Inada (from B’z) with “Sahara”: It charted at number four on the Oricon Singles Chart, as well number six on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 and number four on the Top Singles Sales chart

Beth Hart with “Mother Maria”: On January 19, 2010, Slash donated a previously unreleased track to aid the victims of the earthquake tragedy in Haiti. The song was titled “Mother Maria” and featured Beth Hart. I had never heard of donating a song for a cause but I find it so beautiful.

Andrew Stockdale (from Wolfmother) with “By the sword”

Myles Kennedy (from Alterbridge, Slash ft. Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators and The Mayfield Four) with “Starlight” and “Back from Cali”: Slash chose Myles Kennedy as his singer to tour this album from 2010 and 2011. Myles is the only person to be featured on more than one song on the album. I love Myles Kennedy. ❤

Ian Astbury (from The Cult) with “Ghost”: Izzy Stradlin is the only other person who played guitar on the record, performing rhythm guitar on the song “Ghost.”

“Watch This”: This song is instrumental only featuring Dave Grohl (from Nirvana and The Foo Fighters) and Duff McKagan (Guns N Roses, Velvet Revolver, Duff McKagan’s Loaded and his solo album) and Slash.

Ozzy Osbourne (Black Sabbath and his multiple solo albums) with “Crucify the dead”

Kid Rock with “I hold on”: “I Hold On” was also featured on the season one episode of Hawaii Five-0, entitled “Malama Ka Aina,” which aired on October 4, 2010

Fergie (with The Black Eyed Peas) with “Beautiful Dangerous”

M. Shadows (from Avenged Sevenfold) with “Nothing to Say”

Chris Cornell (from Audioslave) with “Promise”: R.I.P Chris Cornell.

Adam Levine (from Maroon 5) with “Gotten”

Lemmy Kilmister (from Motörhead) with “Doctor Alibi”: R.I.P Lemmy Kilmister

Fergie/Cypress Hill with “Paradise City”

Rocco Deluca with “Saint is a Sinner Too”

Iggy Pop with “We’re All Gonna Die”

Alice Cooper/Nicole Scherzinger/Steven Adler/Flea with “Baby Can’t Drive”

Nick Oliveri (from Kyuss and Queens of the Stone Age) with “Chains and Shackles”

When I found out about this album I was very excited because none of the songs were the same. They had different voices but still kept the same guitar riffs and licks by Slash. Even if you don’t like Slash, which I know you do because then you wouldn’t be here and if you don’t then I ask you to please leave my blog effective immediately, you can find a singer that fits more or less of your style in this album since it’s has a little of everything. The following will be my weekly song recommendations.

Japanese Version ❤
English Version. I love his Japanese accent ❤

This week’s song recommendations…

Sahara: Koshi Inaba is a great singer!!! Please listen to both the Japanese and English versions.

Starlight: Myles Kennedy, enough said

Back From Cali: Myles Kennedy, enough said.

Promise: Chris does a fantastic job but Myles seriously kills it. No disrespect to Chris.

Ghost: Ian does a fantastic job but Myles seriously kills it. No disrespect to Ian.

Nothing to say: I had never listened to Avenged Sevenfold but damn M. Shadows is a damn good singer.

Crucify the Dead: Everything Ozzy Osbourne touches is gold.

By the Sword: Andrew’s voice is so different, I promise you will love it.

Gotten: Adam does a fantastic job but Myles seriously kills it. No disrespect to Adam.

Doctor Alibi: For the Motörhead fans, Lemmy kills it.

Watch this: I love this song. It’s all instrumental, which means no vocals, and I love the heavy riff this whole song is.

Enjoy this following video. It’s the first gig Slash does after the release of this album. It has a couple of songs from R&FN’R and some are from the Guns and Revolver era. I’m watching it as I’m typing this and it’s so good!!!!!! Try out the album my friends. And as always, the Force will be with you, always.

Velvet Revolver

Home ~ About me ~ Blog Feed ~ Instabam

Now, where would we be without Velvet Revolver? Velvet Revolver could be seen as the next step from Guns N’ Roses since it consists of three of its members with only a new singer and rhythm guitarist. Those being Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum. I believe that this is something new and in many ways better. Although it lasted less than Guns, It had a healthier environment. Velvet Revolver took months and months to find their new singer. They were so frustrated because they had everything, even finished tracks just waiting to be demoed, but the singer. Thankfully, they found Scott Weiland. A quick FYI, Myles Kennedy was asked to join the band but he refused because he said he was burned out from his current band. Aside from Myles, Scott was the best option for the vocalist. The only bad thing about him was his drug addiction. Velvet Revolver fell apart after about four years because Scott went back to Stone Temple Pilots, his former band. Unfortunately, Scott Richard Weiland passed away in 2015 due to his addiction. Thankfully he will live through his music and always be with us.

Velvet Revolver gave us two great albums. Their debut album Contraband, was a great comeback. It was extremely successful. Its single “Slither,” debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, selling over 250,000 copies in the first week. Contraband went on to sell four million copies worldwide, 2.9 million of which were sold in the United States. Libertad had less success than Contraband but to me it is as amazing.

Amazing live performance

The song recommendations for Contraband will be the following:

“Superhuman” The best intro riff I can think about for the moment being.

“Slither” I can’t believe it took me a while to love this song. It is so good. The music video is sick as well.

“Fall To Pieces” Sad song amazing riffs.

“Set Me Free”

“Do It For The Kids” WENT TOO FAST I’M OUT OF LUCK AND I DON’T EVEN GIVE A ****!!!

The song recommendations for Libertad will be the following:

“Can’t Get It Out Of My Head” Yes, I know this is a cover but I feel like this version is the best one by far.

“She Builds Quick Machines”

“Gravedancer”  This song is so damn good. It has such a good feel about it. Try it

“The Last Fight”

“Get Out The Door” During my research for his vlog, I found out that this song is about a tranny. Now that I know this, I love the lyrics. They have a whole new meaning to me. Bravo.

Same with Snakepit, I knew I was going to love this band. I just needed the time to immerse myself into the music. It’s made of  three fifths of Guns, but it is a more developed and disciplined band. Without Axl’s rule, Velvet Revolver was free of tyranny. Velvet Revolver has Slash going crazy with those heavy riffs and mesmerizing solos, while having Duff and Matt keeping everything steady. We are blessed.

The sickest hoodie. . .

Slash’s Snakepit

Home ~ About me ~ Blog Feed ~ Instabam

It’s about damn time we get to talk about Slash’s Snakepit. Just a quick little background story. The name Snakepit came from the fact that they recorded the demos for the actual album in the room that’s right next to the snakepit in Slash’s house. The first album It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere happened when Guns went under a long hiatus and was just about done. The name for the album was chosen because when Slash was in England with Guns, he went to a bar at ten o’clock in the morning and asked for a jack and coke. The bartender looked at him dead in the eye and said, “It’s five o’clock somewhere.” Slash claims that this is what the album is all about, “It’s five o’clock somewhere, give me a ******* break.” Slash decided to use the demos that Axl rejected and release this beautiful solo album. He took Guns’ guitarist, Clarke Gilby and drummer Matt Sorum to his side project. I’m so glad Eric Dover was recommended to Slash through a friend of Gilby because his voice next to Slash’s guitar playing is unreal. This duo is unreal, it reaches the level of an Axl/Slash or Myles/Slash level.

The song recommendations for this album will be the following:

“Beggars & Hangers-On”

“Good To Be Alive”

“Lower”

“Neither Can I”

“Back And Forth Again”

“Monkey Chow”

Check out this live version of “Good To Be Alive.” I love Slash’s intro, solo AND HIS WHOLE DAMN ATTIRE!

Trust me, the riffs in these songs are so good I can’t believe it. The lyrics themselves are mesmerizing. I’m not much of a lyric guy because I suck at memorizing lyrics. But for “Neither can I,” it talks about suicide and it’s not really sad as it is interesting to read and listen to. “Beggars & Hangers-On” is the only song that I know thoroughly and that is because it truly is, although very damn hard to choose, the best song of the album. Please, do try them out.

Unfortunately, Slash went back to Guns as did the rest of the members to their own bands. They were a really good band. I wish they would’ve recorded at least one more album with this same setup. A couple of years later around 1998, Slash wanted Snakepit to come back to life. In 2000, the album called AIn’t Life Grand was released. The album didn’t do nearly as well as the first one. I have to admit I had my doubts about the new singer the very first time I heard this album. All in all, Rod Jackson is a good singer. But is he a perfect choice to be alongside Slash? That’s up to the fans. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the album but it is mostly because of Slash’s jamming. I have to give it to Mr. Jackson because he grows on you, but it takes some time. At the time of writing this vlog, I’m currently watching a 2001 Snakepit concert. Don’t worry, the video is right below this paragraph. I’m really liking Rod Jackson. He is a good frontman and knows how to give a show. At this exact moment, I’m really liking Ain’t life grand. There’s a lot that you can notice from listening to a studio version song to watching a live performance. Personally, I love watching Slash play live. When it comes to singers, you can see the talent especially in live performances. They can sound amazing in the recorded studio version because they had many tries to get it but it’s another thing when it’s in front of thousands of people. If they impress you on stage it’s because they are very talented.

I enjoyed this too much.

I will only be recommending only one song from this album because I know that this is a very good one. Obviously, after trying out the songs from It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere, you should try “Back To The Moment.” Beautiful song, beautiful voice. Check out that solo. It’s nasty!

Guns N’ Roses

Home ~ About me ~ Blog Feed ~ Instabam

Guns and Fucking Roses is where it all began. The first song I ever heard from Guns N’ Roses and from Slash was “Welcome To the Jungle.” But it was not the one that actually dragged me into this bad obsession. Though the song made me start listening to Guns. The actual song that got me obsessed and listening on repeat for that gorgeous intro was “Sweet Child O’ Mine.” Slash’s playing left me in awe.

Guns’ first line up included Axl Rose, Duff McKagan, Izzy Stradlin, Steven Adler and Slash. This setup only lasted for one album, the first one Appetite for destruction. They released this album in 1987 which to date has sold over 28 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best selling debut albums of all times in the U.S. God damn was this album good. If you haven’t heard this album, I’m definitely recommending the following songs. You have to try Rocket Queen, Anything Goes, Out Ta Get Me and Sweet Child. Obviously, try the whole album out.

Their second album G N’ R Lies, was released in November 1988. This album reached No.2 in the United States. This album includes live versions, acoustic versions, a cover, and a song back from Guns’ precursor band Hollywood Rose. I am definitely recommending One In A Million, Patience and Reckless Life.

In 1991, Guns released two more albums at the same time. They released Use Your Illusion 1 and Use Your Illusion 2. Yes, that is a total of THIRTY songs released at once. I imagine 1991 was a damn good time to be alive. These albums debuted at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, on the Billboard 200 list, and sold over 18 million copies worldwide. My recommendation for UYI 1 is first and foremost November Rain. It is so damn good! Try watching the music video. It’s a great song for when you are sad and happy. Lots of mixed feelings. It is amazing. You will love Slash’s solo in the desert outside the church. It is the video below. The next songs from UYI 1 I recommend are Bad Obsession, Don’t Damn Me and Coma. Trust me it isn’t easy choosing only a couple. For UYI 2, I’m going with You Could Be Mine, Estranged and Pretty Tied Up. Fun Fact, You Could Be Mine can be heard in Terminator 2. If you do try Estranged, watch the music video, it is so sad and amazing at the same time. When I was around 13 or 14, I used to watch this video way too much.

Start watching at minute 3:37. I just love how Slash ups and leaves in the middle of the wedding and starts playing his solo outside the church with a total dress change!
This is the music video of You Could Be Mine. It is a collab with Terminator 2 and it is so awesome! I barely found out about it while doing this blog. Please look at the stare off at the end. XD

Their fifth studio album The Spaghetti Incident? Was a collection of cover songs which was released on November 23, 1993. This album, which was the least popular of all, debuted at No. 4 at the Billboard charts and sold 190,000 copies its first week. Many people didn’t like this album but I did. In this album we can hear bassist Duff McKagan take the lead vocals on a couple of songs. He has a really nice voice. Ain’t It Fun is one of my favorite songs from Guns. It is crazy good. Try out Attitude and You Can’t Put Your Arms around A Memory so you can see what Duff can bring to the table. Hair Of The Dog and Down On The Farm are good too!
It was in 1996 that Slash left Guns because the band wasn’t the same anymore with Axl’s dictatorship. Who knew they’d be reunited twenty years later when Guns started a tour called Not In This Lifetime tour. The tour was a financial success, grossing over $480,000,000 by December 2017 and at that time was listed as the fourth highest-grossing concert tour of all-time. By the end of the tour in December 2018, the tour had grossed 563,300,000, making it the then second highest-grossing tour. Good for Slash, he got to enjoy playing with four out of five of the original Guns members and made all kinds of money gains. I will not mention Guns’ last album because Slash wasn’t in it but I have to disagree with the public. Many people said that the album was not what Guns was because it wasn’t, therefore it was not good. To me, it’s one of the best albums I’ve ever heard. Period.

Guns N’ Roses is such a roller coaster of emotions. Use it as you please. You will not regret it.

Yes, I know I said that the Chinese Democracy album doesn’t count! But I couldn’t find the other CD’s!!!!

Slash inspired tattoos

Home ~ About me ~ Blog Feed ~ Instabam

I really like how Slash rocks his tattoos, but instead of showing you his, I will show you the Slash inspired tattoos that I’m planning to get.

In this link, you will be able to see the gallery that I want to have inked into my skin. As you can see, almost all of them involve Slash. The first image is a little sketch that Slash does when he gives out autographs. It is a little skull with a top hat and it says “R&FN’R!” just like in his solo album back in 2010. I love the simplicity of it and it makes for a good small tattoo.

THIS IS THE ONE I WANT although I feel the guy chose a template that is a little weird (it might’ve been one that Slash sketched up real quick, because you can see his signature below) rather that the one I linked above.

The second image is from Slash’s first album cover from his band SMKC. The album is called Apocalyptic Love. This is a great album with many great songs in which I will go more in detail about it on my SMKC blog. I believe Slash also came up with this design. I love the beautiful girl angel and she-devil in the middle. The addition of the snakes, skulls, his guitar and top hat really make it a stunning image. You can definitely think of an apocalyptic love when looking at this image.

The third image is of Slash himself. This picture was taken during his tour called “Made in Stoke.” Since Slash grew up in Stoke on Trent, he wanted to come back and play there. It is toward the end of the show that he starts playing with his guitar behind his neck and someone took this neat picture. I love this image, he looks majestic. I will have to go with a really good tattoo artist for this one. Because I know a thing or two about messed up tattoos.

The fourth image is the cover of his first album from Slash’s Snakepit. It is called “It’s five o’clock somewhere.” The image shows a snake surrounding a bone while also wearing a top hat and enjoying a cigarette. It is such a creepy looking snake that I need this! Amazing album, amazing image, and amazing tattoo idea. Slash has this image tattoed on his back! Although, I’m still having second thoughts whether keeping the shadow the snake makes or not. Tell me your opinion below or in my Instagram page.

The fifth image is a tattoo that Slash has tattooed on his chest. It is an image of a naked girl angel on top of a naked she-devil while both being on top of Slash’s top hat. It is a very sexualized image but nevertheless amazing. I want to copy Slash and get it on the chest but I feel like it will hurt like hell. Maybe I’ll just get it on an arm.

Slash also rocks a tattoo from the cover of his band Velvet Revolver’s debut album “Contraband.” It is the silhouette of a woman reaching for her gun. This album really came in hard, it is sick. I understand why Slash would get it. It symbolizes a very successful comeback since Guns n Roses.

Watch this! It shows a couple of the tattoos I talked about.

Tattoos are very important because they will be with you forever, so my next tattoos will be about things that are very important to me and that I will never regret. Because I already regret half of my tattoos. 8)

This is the cover of Guns’s debut album “Appetite for Destruction” with Slash on the bottom. This is the only tattoo of Slash that I have to this moment. I wish this tattoo still looked as good as it does here. It needs a touch up ):

Slash = Style

Home ~ About me ~ Blog Feed ~ Instabam

This blog is going to be dedicated to Slash’s godlike style. Slash has to be the steeziest person that I know. “Steez” means style with ease. Slash is one of those persons that you can recognize anywhere, even in a big crowd of people. I will be reviewing his style from head to toe.

Watch, watch WATCH!!

First of all, the most noticeable part of his wardrobe is his top hat. He chose this piece because he wanted a more recognizable image. I can safely say that that is exactly what he got. Slash doesn’t always contain his huge curly hair with his top hat. He uses beanies and caps put on backwards as shown on the links. The beanies and hats are for more relaxed environments while the top hat is for important performances. The next item he rocks is his aviator sunglasses. He likes his shades black and with a nice reflection to them. This is a good very picture of him absolutely killing those sunglasses with the Jack Black making a cameo. The next item that adds to his overall style is his right-sided nose ring. This piercing almost never looks as good on men as it does on women, but since Slash is God, he rocks it.

Now we will be moving onto his torso action. This man can rock simple t-shirts to really formal shirts. He always rolls up his sleeves on both t-shirts and long sleeve formal shirts. I really like how he makes it so by rolling his sleeves up, it makes his arms look huge. Here is a picture so you can get an idea how he makes it look so damn good. I’ve started implementing this to my program because I am very skinny and it helps in making me look slightly bigger. Slash’s forearms are huge and so he is my inspiration when I go and train forearms at the gym. Slash also wears leather jackets a lot of the time. I will link a picture from my fan page here. He likes using t-shirts with very hilarious phrases and images. As can be seen here. Doesn’t he have a nice sense of humor.

A big part of Slash’s style is his accessories. He will use tons of bracelets and rings that will grab your attention. Here is a picture that will not make you doubt me. I try my best to rock these types of bracelets but I’m either too skinny for them or just don’t have enough confidence to try them yet. But I promise I will.

When it comes to Slash’s choice of pants, he annihilates it. He wears the sickest slimish/skinny jeans. I love that he gets them customized and adds patches to them. I really like how those patches give him a crazy rugged look. Here is a link to a post of mine that shows a series of pictures of his different pants. I don’t know why I haven’t tried to do this to my pants. I guess it’s maybe because I think I’ll mess them up entirely. I also like how he uses the chains that connect his pants to his wallet. He can really rock that. He also uses a rag hanging from his back pockets that adds extra steez.
When it comes to his footwear, Slash used to use big cowboy boots back in the Guns period but also used a lot of Chuck Taylor’s. About a decade or so later for Velvet Revolver, I noticed he started using boots again, not huge cowboy ones but some black heavy ones. I like how he looked, but from then on I’ve only seen him with Chuck Taylor’s on. It is only in big events that he uses his huge black boots. Slash should be sponsored by converse because that is all he wears. His most common model is the black and white one.

Obviously, all of his clothing in black. (the majority of the time) What else could you want?

Slash’s Background

Home ~ About me ~ Blog Feed ~ Instabam

This will be a quick little background check on our lord and Savior Slash.

Slash was born Saul Hudson on July 23, 1965 in London, England. His nickname “Slash” was given to him by a family friend because he was constantly in motion. He was always in a hurry. Slash lived with his grandparents in Stoke-on-Trent, England until the age of five when he moved to Los Angeles. His parents got divorced several years later and Slash became some sort of a “problem child.” He lost interest in his schoolwork and took up BMX racing. He was considered very good at that sport but quit as soon as he was introduced to music. As kids, Slash and Steven Adler, future Guns N’ Roses drummer, wanted to build a band and since Steven had a guitar and an amp and they would spend hours just banging on the guitar. Steven was automatically named the guitarist, which left Slash to choose the bass and get bass lessons. During Slash’s first lesson, he decided to switch from bass to guitar after hearing his teacher play ”Brown Sugar” by The Rolling Stones. His decision to play guitar was further influenced by one of his school teachers, who would play songs by Cream and Led Zeppelin for his students. From then on, Slash never stopped playing the guitar.

Slash disproving some facts from his Wikipedia page. A very interesting watch.

In 1981, he joined his first band, Tidus Sloan, and dropped out of high school to tour. For the next four years, Slash formed a series of bands. Among them was Hollywood Rose, the precursor of Guns N’ Roses. The band didn’t last but in 1985, Axl and Izzy Stradlin asked Slash to come back to the band which would now be Guns N’ Roses. As you may know, this band had a hell of a lot of success. Unfortunately, by this time, Slash and other band members had developed a drug problem. Good thing Axl Rose did a public announcement in 1989 during a show saying he would quit the band if the other members wouldn’t stop using heroin. The rest accepted and stopped for a while. During the Guns period, members were leaving and being replaced and in 1996, Slash announced he was no longer a part of the band. According to Slash’s autobiography, he claims that he quit because Steven and Izzy had quit and it wasn’t the same anymore. Slash would reunite with Guns twenty years later in March of 2016. It was announced that Guns would be reuniting for a 21-city North American tour. Of course, I didn’t go because the tickets were ranging from $250 to $500 and even though I’ve had more chances to see them, I haven’t gone. Stupidity to it finest.

While he was with Guns, Slash pitched ideas of songs and riffs to Axl and if he didn’t like it then they wouldn’t even give them a try. So, Slash created a side band to get that material out. The band was called Slash’s Snakepit. So, when Slash left Guns, he kept jamming and playing in bars for Snakepit. Slash liked the idea of playing in small places like bars and not in huge arenas like with Guns. Snakepit gave us two albums. I loved the first one way, way more than the second. This is not because of Slash, but because of the singer. I don’t hate him, but they changed the singer and I loved Eric Dover so very much. When we get to the Snakepit Vlog, I’ll recommend a few songs for you to hear and understand why Eric Dover is a beast. After Pit, he would form a blues cover band called Slash’s Blues ball that he would only tour for a couple of years. Both Snakepit and Slash’s Blues Ball ended shortly.

In 2003, a miracle happened. Slash formed Velvet Revolver, which would consist of three ex-Guns members and two new fellas. Velvet Revolver was largely praised and considered a successful comeback. It was only after a couple of years that the band would go into hiatus because the singer, Scott Weiland, was suffering with drug addiction and the band couldn’t find another suitable singer. Thank God Velvet Revolver gave us two albums to rejoice in. During this time the rest of the band members would each focus on their individual projects. This right here is where Slash exploded! He released a sick solo album in 2010 called Slash R&FK’R (Rock & Fucking Roll!) It is one of my favorite albums because this shows how beast Slash is. Similar to Snakepit, he already had the base of the songs done, the majority of the track finished. What Slash needed were singers and not just any singers. He knew that his songs require different voices because they were different in rock categories and so he already had in mind the voices he needed for every single song. Slash called up an array of guest musicians including Ozzy Osbourne, Fergie, Adam Levine, M Shadows, Lemmy Kilmister, Dave Grohl, Myles Kennedy and many more. The album debuted at #3 on the U.S chart upon its release.

After his Rock n’ fucking roll album, he wanted to tour his new album but seeing as all the songs were from different artists, he knew he had to find a singer that could do them all. Myles Kennedy, who Slash had only done two songs with him on his solo album, came to his mind.  He noticed that he had a very malleable and trustworthy voice with the ability to sing a whole range of different songs. He seemed like the best option and he definitely was. Slash asked him if he wanted to tour his Solo project with him and Myles accepted. On the tour, they played songs from Guns, Velvet Revolver, Snakepit, and his solo album and Myles crushed them. This is when Slash came to realize that the band he formed just for touring purposes had to become a band because they were doing very good and he enjoyed it much.

Slash would start his new and current band called Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. SMKC is easier to say. This band has now three records from 2012 to this day and they are the sickest. Once again, I could’ve gone to see SMKC two years ago and here I am feeling so stupid.

More on Slash’s personal life, he married twice and got divorced twice. He has two boys, London and Cash, and is currently living with his girlfriend Meegan Hodges. In 2001, at the age of 35, Slash was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy, which is a form of heart failure caused by his many years of alcohol and drug use. He was originally given between six days and six weeks to live, but he survived through physical therapy and the implantation of a defibrillator. Slash has been clean and sober since 2005. Imagine all the music we wouldn’t have gotten to enjoy if Slash had died within that time period. Velvet Revolver, Rock n’ fucking roll, SMKC and his many collaborations just gone. We were blessed. A couple of years later he would release his autobiography which would fall at number six on the New York Times Hardcover Nonfiction list only a few weeks after its release. His autobiography simply named “Slash” tells his story of playing on his several bands, his addiction and his many close calls with death. The book’s tagline is: “It seems excessive, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen…”

In conclusion, Slash is a beast. He is amazing. His music has kept me entertained and happy for so long, for over a decade! Please do us both a favor and check him out right now.

On this website, I will do my very best to provide you with everything you need to know in order to love Slash. I love Slash, he is my favorite artist of all time. Ever since I first saw him when I played guitar hero 3 about ten years ago, I was obsessed with him. It’s a bad obsession. I just remember how sick he looked dressed all black and having his face covered with his long hair, sunglasses and famous top hat. When I knew he belonged to Guns N Roses, I started listening to them for a couple of years and didn’t really expand myself from only a couple of albums let alone the rest of his bands. It was only about some 5 or 6 years ago that I slowly started learning about all of his discographies and different bands. I was missing out on a whole lot. I then tried Hollywood Rose which is the precursor or Guns N Roses. Soon after that I went for Velvet Revolver and I couldn’t believe how sick this was. Then, I went for Slash’s Snakepit and his solo album. Finally, his most recent and current band has me hooked like a prostitute on crack. Slash Ft. Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators. This is the reason why rock is still alive! I hope this bands holds out longer than his previous ones because they are godlike. I gotta say, he hit the jackpot by choosing Myles Kennedy as the lead singer. (I will be going in depth on each of his bands on later blogs)

Just listen to him…

I love the passion he has for guitar playing because it shows through his music. You can tell by his music that he loves the guitar. You can see how he expresses his feelings through his guitar playing.

A very important thing to appreciate about Slash is his god damned style. He is the best dressing person I know. He is the reason why I love dressing full black. I try my best to replicate his style. While I might not look like him, just dressing full black and trying to get as close as I can to looking like him, it makes me feel so confident and so happy. It makes me feel like a rock star.

On this website, I will have ten blog posts and they will be about the following topics. The first will be my introduction to Slash and how this bad obsession started. Then I will talk about Slash’s background. I will give a brief summary of who he is and how he became the man he is now. The next blog will be about his style and needless to say, it will come straight from my heart. The following will be a blog about some tattoo ideas inspired by Slash. On the next five blogs, I will be giving my opinion and brainstorming about all of his bands. And of course, I will be recommending my favorite songs from his different eras. Finally, the last blog will be concluding Slash’s influence in my life.

Slash has influenced me in the way I try to dress and the way I try to act. Slash is tranquil, he is calm and very well-mannered. I want to feel like he feels, very confident and relaxed. He seems as if he doesn’t have a thing to stress about. When I get to make music of my own it will be heavily influenced by Slash. It has to be based on his bluesish and rockish style. His impact on me is him being him. I can’t pinpoint it exactly. He is great at what he does because he does it with passion. He is very recognizable. He knows how to make an entrance. You will recognize him even if you don’t know him.

Slash is an example to follow. Slash is my culture and I hope I can make you appreciate him as I do.
